DIABLO 30TH ANNIVERSARY

Spotlight Preview:
The 7th Class Revealed?

Posted: February 6, 2026

Greetings, Nephalem! Blizzard has just released a massive announcement.

To celebrate three decades of darkness, the Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight will air on February 11 at 2 p.m. PST. This isn't just a nostalgic look back; it is a look forward into the burning hells.

The official blog post confirms the headline we’ve all been waiting for: We will behold the next class coming to Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred.

Let's break down the official news, analyze what it means for the meta, and look at what the community is whispering about.

The Headline: A "New Force" in Sanctuary

While the Paladin has already been confirmed as the spearhead of the Lord of Hatred expansion, Blizzard has teased a second new class for months. This stream promises to finally lift the veil.

"Behold the next class coming to Diablo IV... a new force in Sanctuary that will reshape how you fight, survive and master the battlefield."

Community Theorycrafting

The community is currently split into three camps regarding this identity:

  • The Amazon: Given that the expansion takes place in the Skovos Isles (the Amazon homeland), this is the fan-favorite theory.
  • The Oracle: A pure caster utilizing Willpower/Intelligence could fill a mechanical gap in the current roster.
  • A Brand New Archetype: Just as they did with the Spiritborn, Blizzard might surprise us with something never seen before in the franchise history.
MY TAKE: THE "RESHAPE" HINT

The phrase "reshape how you fight" is intriguing. If it is the Amazon, perhaps we will see a "Javelin & Shield" mechanic that changes defensive playstyles. If it is an Oracle, we might see time-manipulation mechanics. Whatever it is, expect it to challenge the current meta.

System Overhauls: Skill Trees & Endgame

Beyond the new class, the broadcast will dive deep into major updates for Skill Trees and new Endgame Systems. These were teased back in December, but this will be our first concrete look.

Why this matters: The community has been vocal about wanting more depth in build customization. A Skill Tree update suggests Blizzard is listening. We are hoping for more branching paths and less reliance on "cookie-cutter" builds.

A Surprise for Diablo II: Resurrected?

In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, the blog post mentions:

"You’ll also get a glimpse at what’s coming next for Diablo Immortal, Diablo II: Resurrected."

This is a massive surprise. The D2R community largely believed the game had entered "maintenance mode" with only routine ladder resets. The fact that it is being featured in the 30th Anniversary Spotlight implies actual content or significant balance changes. Could we be seeing new Runewords? Or perhaps a new end-game event?
