It’s Finally Here! Holy Moleys & Faster Agility Shortcuts – OSRS "Getting Around" Update Explained
OSRS News: The "Getting Around" Update
Greetings, ‘Scapers! Jagex has just dropped a massive blog post titled "Getting Around." As the name suggests, this update is all about fixing the little annoyances of travel in Gielinor. We're talking fewer clicks, better shortcuts, and some legendary fashion upgrades.
Here is the breakdown of everything proposed in the new poll.
1. Fashion & Flex: New Cosmetics
The community asked, and Jagex delivered. Two major cosmetic updates are on the table:
The "Holy Moleys"
Finally, you don't have to choose between prayer bonus and maximum comfort. You can now combine Holy Sandals and Mole Slippers.
- Stats: Retains the +3 Prayer bonus and counts as a Saradomin item.
- How: Visit Wyson the gardener in Falador to combine them.
- Note: Purely cosmetic combination (not compatible with Devout Boots).
Hooded Slayer Helm
For the masters of the skill. If you have 99 Slayer, you can spend 1,000 points to combine your Skillcape Hood with your Slayer Helmet. It's the ultimate drip for your tasks.
2. Faster Travel & Shortcuts
The core of this update is making movement feel better.
- Agility Shortcuts: No more waiting. Many shortcuts (like the Falador wall or Kalphite Queen entrance) will have their animations sped up, and stepping stones will become single-click actions.
- Spirit Trees: The level gaps are being smoothed out. Instead of waiting until level 91 for your second tree, you will unlock more trees progressively at levels 83, 88, 93, 96, and unlimited at 99.
- River Dougne Canoes: A brand new canoe network for the west! New stations include Castle Wars, Gnome Village, and the Ardougne Zoo.
- Portal Nexus: Missing teleports (Trollheim, Ancient, and Lunar spells) are finally being added to the Nexus.
3. Huge QoL Improvements
These are the small changes that make a big difference in daily gameplay:
- Teleport Crystals: You can now recharge crystals before they are empty. No more wasting that last charge!
- Quetzal Whistle: Using the whistle will now open a menu with a "Last Destination" option, skipping the flight to Renu.
- Fairy Rings & Spirit Trees: New right-click options for "Favourites" (Fairy Rings) and "Last Destination" (Spirit Trees).
- Pickpocketing: Looted runes will go straight into your Rune Pouch if you have it on you.
4. The Silklined Herb Sack
A massive upgrade for Slayers and Ironmen. A new item, Pristine Spider Silk, will drop from Sarachnis.
Use this silk to upgrade your Herb Sack, increasing its capacity from 30 to 100 of each herb. This gives Sarachnis a solid purpose for mid-to-high-level players.
5. Wilderness Anti-Ragging Mechanics
To stop the endless waves of "raggers" returning instantly to fights in multi-combat zones:
If you are Skulled and attack a player in Multi-combat, a 2-minute teleport timer starts. During this time, you cannot teleport back into the Wilderness (jewelry/spells). Ferox Enclave is exempt.
