PoE 2 Boss Guide: Asinia, Praetor Consort Strategy & Drops

Asinia, Praetor Consort is a spectral boss encountered in the Mausoleum of the Praetor within the Vastiri Desert region of Act 2 in Path of Exile 2. Resurrected by forbidden necromancy, she wields the eerie power of Ghostflame—a scorching green fire that burns both flesh and spirit. This fight is a visual spectacle of emerald flames, requiring players to dodge rapid spear thrusts and manage hazardous burning ground.

Lore & Background

In life, Asinia was the ruthless consort to a high-ranking Praetor of the Eternal Empire. When the empire fell, she was entombed with her husband, surrounded by protective wards. However, the corruption of the Seed has twisted these wards into necromantic fuel.

Now, she has risen as a burning effigy of the empire's lost glory. The golden armor she wears is scorched by the green Ghostflame that animates her, and she guards the inner sanctum with a spear that sears the souls of intruders.

Core Mechanics

Asinia deals primarily Fire Damage (Ghostflame) and Physical Damage. Her attacks leave lingering green fire on the ground. Fire Resistance is mandatory, and Chaos Resistance is helpful against her spectral abilities.

Phase 1: 

• 1. Green Flame Rune
  Description: The boss summons green flames in a circular shape from the ground 3 times. Before the Flames summon, a circular ring appears from the ground which indicates the AOE of the attack.
  Strategy: Leave the circle rune range.
• 2. Spirit Body Mortar
  Description: She raised her spear toward the sky, summoning multiple green orbs to fall from above.When the photon sphere lands, it will explode and deal area damage.
  Strategy: There will be faint green spots on the ground as hints; do not stand inside the circle.

• 3. Whirling Blades Spin
  Description: Asinia crouches low and swings her spear in a rapid horizontal spinning slash.
  Strategy: When she crouched down and green light appeared, roll backward out of the circle range.
• 4. Spiked Cage
  Description: A circle of ghostly spears emitting green light juts out from the ground, trapping you within the circle. After a few seconds, a large number of spikes will descend.
  Strategy: Keep moving. You can attack the spikes to create a gap and roll out of the control area.

Recommended Builds

Asinia is aggressive and covers the arena in damage zones. Mobile builds work best.

• Monk - Celerity: Use your high mobility to weave through the green fire pillars. The Monk's dodge capabilities help avoid her spear throws.
• Sorceress - Frost/Cold: Freezing or Chilling Asinia is very effective, as it slows down her dash animations, giving you more time to react.
• Key Stats: Fire Resistance (75%) is absolutely critical to survive the Ghostflame. A Ruby Flask will significantly reduce the damage taken.
