PoE 2 Boss Guide: Ignagduk, The Bog Witch Strategy & Drops

Last Updated: November 30, 2025 • By phoenixalfonse

Ignagduk, The Bog Witch is a deceptive and highly mobile optional boss encountered in The Azak Bog of Act 3 in Path of Exile 2. While she is technically optional, defeating her is considered mandatory for most builds, as she guards a permanent upgrade to your Spirit resource. This fight is a chaotic mix of fire magic, necromancy, and hit-and-run tactics, requiring players to manage hazardous ground effects while chasing down a flying target.

Lore & Background

Deep within the rotting heart of the Azak Bog lies Gor-gor Mog, the lair of Ignagduk. A practitioner of forbidden Karui blood magic and ancient witchcraft, she has twisted the swamp's flora and fauna into her skeletal servants. She is the target of the quest "Tribal Vengeance" given by the NPC Servi, who seeks retribution for her clan's suffering at the witch's hands.

Ignagduk is not merely a caster; she mocks her enemies from above, riding her bone spear like a broomstick and raining death upon those foolish enough to enter her domain without preparation.

Core Mechanics

Ignagduk deals heavy Fire and Physical damage. Before engaging her, it is highly recommended to complete the map's unique ritual mechanic.

Preparation: The Flameskin Ritual

Somewhere in The Azak Bog (usually near the center), you will find a large ritual site with unlit effigies.

  • Ignagduk's Harvest Buff
Description: Interact with and light all the effigies in the ritual circle. This grants you a zone-wide buff.
Effect: You gain +25% Fire Resistance and increased Item Rarity for the duration of the zone. This buff significantly reduces the lethality of Ignagduk's fire spells.

Boss Abilities

  • 1. Flying Spear (Broomstick Phase)
Description: Ignagduk mounts her bone spear and flies around the arena, leaving a trail of razor-sharp bone spikes and fire.
Strategy: She is hard to hit with melee attacks during this. Dodge the trail and wait for her to swoop down. Dealing enough damage while she flies can knock her off, stunning her for a massive damage window.
  • 2. Red Sigil
Description: Glowing red runic circles appear on the ground, pulsating briefly before exploding for high Fire damage.
Strategy: These zones are often placed under your feet. Keep moving constantly. Do not stand still to cast long spells when you see the red runes forming.
  • 3. Root Summon
Description: She summons a large tribal drum and begins beating it rhythmically. This causes spiked tree roots to burst from the ground under the player.
Strategy: This is a "rhythm game" mechanic. The roots spawn in time with the drumbeats. Run in a wide circle around the arena to stay ahead of the spawning roots.

Recommended Builds

Ignagduk is notably Weak to Cold and resistant to Fire.

  • Sorceress - Ice Nova/Frost: Cold damage is king here. Freezing or Chilling her slows down her flight speed, making her much easier to hit.
  • Ranger - Lightning Arrow: The auto-targeting of Lightning Arrow helps deal consistent damage while she is flying, without needing precise aim.
  • Key Stats: Fire Resistance (capped at 75% via the Ritual buff) is mandatory. Movement Speed helps dodge the root phase.

Ignagduk is a high-priority target because she drops a permanent character upgrade item.
